I'll be the first to get it started off. I was out yesterday on Harvey's Creek in West Nanticoke and had a little luck. With the women and baby with me I knew I had about 15 minute's to fish(she wanted to go for a ride so I figured why not stop at the creek). I was using a simple split shot and hook rig with some wax worms I had left over. I got to fish for about 10 minutes before the baby for fussy and she wanted to leave. Caught 2 little ones in the 10 minutes I was there. They are suposed to be restocking it today.

Well this isn't form today but last weekend at Moon Lake
    [IMG] [IMG]
Caught these fellas trolling a 3" rainbow trout shallow diving rapala in the shallow weedy side of Moon Lake.

I am a total noobie when it comes to trolling. Anyone with advise for trolling would be greatly appreciated. I just throw crank baits out behind me about 30' and go slow. I set the drags really loose (seriously almost to the point where I cant reel them in bare) but they still seem to not take drag when I get a hit. The way I knew I got something was the rod tips stops jiggling to the motion of the lure.

I want to try a shallow and deep diving crank bait on one rod. Saw a youtube video on it using a 3 way connector.

And thanks for starting this thread.

Made it down to the River after work for an hour. Used 3" twisty tail grub on a 1/4oz jig head. Still cant manage to land any walleye but the small mouths like it.

Today's catch both caught using wax worms.

I wanted to add. The larger one is twelve inches and the smaller one is ten. Big difference in girth. I've noticed that the 8-1o inch trout are usually like the smaller one. But, one more year of growth really starts packing on the meat.

I am hoping that when I get back to Wisconsin at the end of July I can get out on Lake Michigan and catch a REAL sized trout.... and/or some salmon... looking forward to getting back there again...

I have heard that... I know the salmon fishing on Lake Michigan is good then too just before they come in to "spawn".... use to be able to snag hook them once they came in off the big lake, but the people from Illinois came up with their campers and left one hell of a mess, so they shut that down... was a real shame that the fish coming in to spawn would die and just rot away... use to get them smoke and saved for Christmas presents to neighbors and such.... AHHHHH.. the GOOD OLD DAYS...lol

Nice looking catches there. Moon Lake is a real good fishery that is packed with fish. Sometime's I think there is too much bait fish in there and that causes the targeted fish to be harder to catch.

Great looking trout. Thanks for sharing!
An extra year defiantly does a lot for the trout. I know up my way the extra 6 months the winter stocked fish get makes a world of difference. Now this year I have no complaints about the size of the trout stocked. At lake Tookawile,Moon Lake, and lake Francis I would say a solid average is in the 15 inch area with none really under 12. All very fat and healthy. Now the creeks are a different story.

I didn't get out today but hoping to put in a few hours this weekend.

Thanks for sharing these. Those are some healthy looking fish. I think it's great how you show what bait you're using. Glad you had a good day.

the best part of fishing is just being out on the water for me when i catch fish it is just a plus and the pickerel were hitting harder than the bass but plenty of bass were caught yesterday but that day wasn't a real good day because i missed alot of fish in the beginning of the day and wasn't setting hook sometimes hard enough for the bass i missed ten on top of the 12 i caught was ridiculous i was not satisfied with myself but was still happy to get out and just hangout.... but thank you for viewing my videos!!

Great catches you got there. What did you catch them on bait wise?

High water from all the rain made fishing a bit dicey today - at least for trout. I threw spinners for an hour and finally switched to Powerbait. Got these two within 10 minutes. The larger one measured a little over 12 inches.
